Day 1: Arrival at Reykjavik.
Welcome to the capital city of Iceland! Airport transfer. Hotel check-in. Overnight in Reykjavik. Northern light cruise: Watching the auroras dance in the vast starry space with the gentle lull of the ocean beneath is an experience of a lifetime. Hunting the auroras on a boat gives you more comfort as there are heated indoor areas, an onboard café, and a great 360° viewing platform for panoramic views. Our expert aurora guides help you enjoy the lights and cruise to the fullest by giving you information about the auroras as well as answering any questions you may have.
Day 2: South Iceland adventure
Among the stops on this tour are the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to stroll behind it, which we of course highly recommend. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. We will also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. Additionally, we stop by Sólheimajökull glacier and walk up to a small lake that has formed in front of the retreating glacier. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Day 3: Golden circle tour
It is a perfect Icelandic experience, giving you a chance to visit waterfalls, geysers, historic sights, and soak in a natural hot spring. Come explore the famous sites of Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, and Geysir hot spring area. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland. In the evening, participate in a Northern light tour by minibus. We follow the best aurora and cloud forecast available to optimize your chance of seeing the aurora borealis dancing across the night sky. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Day 4: Ice cave experience
Visit a unique and remote man-made Ice Cave in Langjökull, one of Iceland’s largest and most spectacular glaciers. We would drive to the lush Húsafell area with stops at Europe’s most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver, and the beautiful Hraunfossar lava waterfalls. Then we head on up to Langjökull, partly in a specially modified glacier vehicle. It will take us almost to the top of the glacier, where we enter the magnificent cave. Before you realize, you find yourself standing on top of a vast ice-cap, ready to enter the glacier and explore its icy underworld. The glacier guide will take you on an amazing journey, deep within the glacier where you can see the stunning blue-hued ice. Going into the glacier is an unforgettable trip which takes place in one of the world’s greatest wilderness. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Take airport transfer and board your flight. End your Icelandic winter experience with wonderful memories!
Includes 4 nights in 4★ Reykjavik hotel with breakfast, private airport transfers, and guided small-group activities. Weather may affect Northern Light visibility and glacier access.
